Brice Marden Catalogue Raisonné

The Brice Marden Catalogue Raisonné project is currently collecting information for the preparation of a catalogue of all of Brice Marden’s paintings and works on paper. The completed publication will document Marden’s oeuvre with an entry for each work that includes descriptive information and a comprehensive provenance, exhibition history, and bibliography.

We are now accepting submissions for unique works of art on canvas and on paper. About Brice Marden

Brice Marden, whose career spanned seven decades, was born in 1938 in Bronxville, NY; raised in Briarcliff Manor, NY; lived and worked in New York; and died in 2023 in Tivoli, NY. He received his BFA in 1961 from Boston University’s School of Fine and Applied Arts and his MFA in 1963 from Yale University’s School of Art and Architecture. Since 1963, he has had more than one hundred solo exhibitions, including a major retrospective of paintings and drawings in 2006 at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, which traveled to San Francisco and Berlin. Tiffany Bell is the editor of the catalogue raisonné, working closely with the artist’s studio, Plane Image, which initiated the project in 2019. Bell is also the editor of catalogues raisonnés devoted to the work of Agnes Martin and Dan Flavin. Emily Korn is the project’s photography manager and Anna Gray is senior researcher.
